Alexis Viles - Chairperson

Alexis is a retired Senior Nurse Manager with a degree in Health Administration. With an extensive history in the health profession that began at Young District Hospital, Alexis has specialised in areas such as palliative care, emergency nursing, and operating theatre nursing.

In 1980, Alexis started working with Cardiologist Dr. John England, establishing his stress testing clinic and facilitating clinical trials with the National Heart Foundation. This partnership lasted for many years, and Alexis gained valuable experience in managing and supporting medical research projects.

Aside from her work with the Blue Mountains Health Trust, Alexis is also a trustee of the organisation. Her passions lie in her family and ensuring the optimum provision of health care services for the Blue Mountains community. With her vast experience and dedication, Alexis is an invaluable asset to our team.

Christine Killinger - Secretary

Christine is a respected member of the senior living industry, with an impressive career spanning several decades. Prior to her move into the senior living industry, Christine had retired from the Hospitality Tourism Industry. She began her professional journey in nursing after completing her general and midwifery training in Australia. She further honed her skills by completing a Post Graduate Supplementary Nursing and Observation Diploma at St. Luke's Hospital, New York, which is affiliated with Columbia University New York.

After her studies, Christine worked in Nursing Administration before transitioning to the Private Health Care Branch of the NSW Department of Health. Throughout her career, Christine has been involved in several community-based organisations, including the Katoomba Chamber of Commerce and the Blue Mountains Health Trust, where she serves as a trustee.

Christine's contribution to the community has been recognised on numerous occasions. In 2013, she was awarded the Blue Mountains Woman of the Year, and in 2020, she was honored with an Order of Australia Medal for her volunteer work in the community. Additionally, she has been recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow (Rotary) and is a Justice of the Peace.

Richard Wadick - Director

Richard has been a proud resident of the Blue Mountains since 1971. His professional career began in 1977, when he joined Westpac in Leura, starting his journey in the banking industry. With his dedication and hard work, Richard has enjoyed a long and successful career in finance and insurance. He holds a Diploma of Financial Markets from the Securities Institute of Australia, which has been instrumental in his professional growth.

Apart from his professional accomplishments, Richard is also actively involved in several community-based organisations. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Central Blue Mountains and former President of Blue Mountains Toastmasters, where he honed his leadership and public speaking skills. Currently, Richard serves as the President of the Riverland Ramblers Men's Barbershop Chorus, where he brings his passion for music to the forefront.

Richard's commitment to his community and his profession is an inspiration to those around him. With his wealth of experience and leadership skills, Richard is a valuable asset to the Blue mountains retirement village.

Andrew White - Deputy Chairperson

With over 25 years of experience practicing law in regional NSW, Andrew is well-versed in planning and property law, wills and estates, commercial and business transactions, and elder law. Benetatos White Solicitors and Attorneys is a prominent law firm in the Blue Mountains, established by Andrew in 1993.

He holds a Master of Laws in Wills and Estates law and has served as a board member of the Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre for more than 35 years. In addition to being a respected legal professional, Andrew is a Notary Public and previously held the position of President of the Blue Mountains Regional Law Society.

John Rankins - Director

John has an extensive background in education and training, having served as a former TAFE NSW Hospitality Head Teacher.

With a passion for helping those less fortunate, John is an active board member of several charitable organisations, including Greytanes Disability Services, Blue Mountains Food Services (BMFS), and Rotary, despite being retired. He dedicates his time and effort to various initiatives at BMFS's Ben Roberts Café, where he assists with training programs to help young disabled individuals gain work skills.

John's outstanding contributions to the community have earned him many accolades, including an Order of Australia medal in 2016 for his volunteer work. He is also a proud recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award from Rotary International and the Commonwealth of Australia Polar Medal for his work as an Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditioner. With his dedication and passion for making a difference, John continues to be an essential asset to the community.

Bill Winn - Director

Bill is a former businessman who spent many years as a director in various companies, including bus services, coach tours, travel agencies, printing, and a large motel complex in the Snowy Mountains.

He recently published his memoir, recounting his early life in the UK and experiences as a Ten Pound "Pom" migrant in Australia.

Bill has been a resident of the Blue Mountains for over thirty years and is now honored to serve on the Board of the Blue Mountains Retirement Village. He has a keen interest in music and enjoys composing songs, reading history, and occasionally going on bushwalks.

Tom is a dedicated member and former president of the Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains Sunrise.
 
With 25 years of experience in the funeral industry, Tom currently owns and operates T.R.Brownjohn Memorial Home & Lithgow City Fund is an asset to any organisation he is a part of.

Tania Pearce - Director

Tania, a lifelong resident of the Lower Blue Mountains, has been active in her community for over three decades. With 34 years experience managing a local business in Emu Heights, she is a fierce advocate for high standards in Vocational Education & Training.  Recognising the importance of training the next generation, Tania is dedicated to mentoring young people, guiding them through trade based apprenticeships.   Tania has provided industry insight to both State and Federal Governments.
 
Her commitment to community service extends to her involvement on past and present local boards, where she has made significant contributions to sports organizations and disability service providers.
